Sunil Kumar to Head ONGC / सुनील कुमार होंगे ONGC के चेयरमैन

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Sunil Kumar, currently an Executive Director at ONGC, as the next Chairman of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. He will take charge on or after 7 December 2026, for a total tenure of three years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने ONGC में कार्यकारी निदेशक सुनील कुमार को ऑयल एंड नेचुरल गैस कॉरपोरेशन का अगला चेयरमैन नियुक्त करने को मंज़ूरी दी है। वे 7 दिसंबर 2026 या उसके बाद पदभार संभालेंगे और उनका कुल कार्यकाल तीन वर्ष या अगले आदेश तक, जो पहले हो, रहेगा।

Nagastra-2 Delivered to the Army / नागस्त्र-2 सेना को सौंपा गया

Nagpur-based Solar Defence and Aerospace Ltd has delivered Nagastra-2, an indigenous anti-tank loitering munition, to the Indian Army. It can strike armoured targets up to about 50 km away in fire-and-forget mode and about 25 km in recover-and-reuse mode.

नागपुर की सोलर डिफेंस एंड एयरोस्पेस लिमिटेड ने स्वदेशी एंटी-टैंक लोइटरिंग म्यूनिशन (आत्मघाती ड्रोन) नागस्त्र-2 भारतीय सेना को सौंपा है। यह “फायर-एंड-फॉरगेट” मोड में लगभग 50 किमी और “रिकवर-एंड-रीयूज़” मोड में लगभग 25 किमी दूर तक बख्तरबंद लक्ष्यों को निशाना बना सकता है।

Khet Bachao Abhiyan – Rabi 2026 / खेत बचाओ अभियान – रबी 2026

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched the nationwide “Khet Bachao Abhiyan – Rabi 2026” from Karnal, Haryana on 22 October; it runs till 30 November. Farmer conferences, Kisan Chaupals, training and field demonstrations will be held down to the gram panchayat level to promote soil and water conservation and cost-effective farming.

केंद्रीय कृषि मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने 22 अक्टूबर को करनाल (हरियाणा) से देशव्यापी “खेत बचाओ अभियान – रबी 2026” शुरू किया, जो 30 नवंबर तक चलेगा। मिट्टी और जल संरक्षण तथा कम लागत वाली खेती को बढ़ावा देने के लिए ग्राम पंचायत स्तर तक किसान सम्मेलन, किसान चौपाल, प्रशिक्षण और खेत प्रदर्शन होंगे।

Polish PM Donald Tusk Visits India / पोलैंड के प्रधानमंत्री डोनाल्ड टस्क की भारत यात्रा

Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk visited India and held talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on 22 October, also attending the India-Poland Business Forum, before travelling to Bengaluru on 23 October. The two sides aim to raise bilateral trade from about 6 billion US dollars to 10 billion US dollars.

पोलैंड के प्रधानमंत्री डोनाल्ड टस्क ने भारत यात्रा के दौरान 22 अक्टूबर को नई दिल्ली में प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी से बातचीत की और भारत-पोलैंड बिज़नेस फोरम में भाग लिया, फिर 23 अक्टूबर को बेंगलुरु गए। दोनों देशों का लक्ष्य द्विपक्षीय व्यापार को लगभग 6 अरब डॉलर से बढ़ाकर 10 अरब डॉलर करना है।

UNEP Emissions Gap Report 2026 / UNEP उत्सर्जन अंतर रिपोर्ट 2026

The UN Environment Programme released the “Emissions Gap Report 2026: The Point of Return” on 21 October 2026. It lays out the emission cuts, compared with 2025 levels, that the world needs to bring warming back towards the 1.5°C goal, and says current climate commitments are not enough.

संयुक्त राष्ट्र पर्यावरण कार्यक्रम (UNEP) ने 21 अक्टूबर 2026 को “उत्सर्जन अंतर रिपोर्ट 2026: द पॉइंट ऑफ़ रिटर्न” जारी की। इसमें बताया गया है कि तापमान वृद्धि को फिर से 1.5°C लक्ष्य की ओर लाने के लिए 2025 के स्तर की तुलना में कितनी कटौती ज़रूरी है, और मौजूदा जलवायु प्रतिबद्धताएँ पर्याप्त नहीं हैं।

UN Day and World Polio Day / संयुक्त राष्ट्र दिवस और विश्व पोलियो दिवस

United Nations Day and World Polio Day were observed on 24 October. UN Day marks the date in 1945 when the UN Charter came into force. India’s last case of wild poliovirus was reported on 13 January 2011 from Howrah, West Bengal, and India was certified polio-free in 2014.

24 अक्टूबर को संयुक्त राष्ट्र दिवस और विश्व पोलियो दिवस मनाया गया। संयुक्त राष्ट्र दिवस 1945 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र चार्टर लागू होने की तारीख की याद में मनाया जाता है। भारत में वाइल्ड पोलियो का आखिरी मामला 13 जनवरी 2011 को हावड़ा (पश्चिम बंगाल) में मिला था, और 2014 में भारत को पोलियो-मुक्त प्रमाणित किया गया।
